Yale Feedback

“I feel safe at my home, I have friends here and neighbours who we all look out for each other. I really enjoy living here. This is the first property that I have had on my own and I am now doing okay. I have made good friends here and I have never laughed so much. The HUB is brilliant, I have many friends here. I come to talk to my friends and like to have some food. I love doing the activities because it keeps me busy. My best activity to do in the HUB is card making with glitter and things to stick on. I spend a lot of my time here during the day. Your all brilliant, everyone has been really, really good to me and you are all wonderful. When things have been bad for me for example my brother passed away all the staff was amazing with me and helping me get through it.”

“I always find it a great help having a service like Yale’s and I can’t thank them enough. And with all the corona virus stuff going on, Yale is still there for us all throughout all that, with welfare checks and dropping off electric cards. There is always somebody available on the phone if we need help, so all in all they provide excellent support. My home with yale is great for me on my own. It’s a safe and clean place to live and being given a chance after prison has turned things round for me. The hub is another safe space for me to go to. I can spend time there and get help with forms and any other issues I have.”

“The support is really good. My housing officer is good at keeping on top of the issues people bring up around the property. My housing officer is professional but not uptight. I can have a chat and normal conversation too which is great. The flat is nice. I am at the back near the fire exit so if anything happened, I have an easy way out and the doors are secure, so I feel safe in here. The hub is nice. It’s got a nice range of entertainment and the food always smells nice on a Friday. It’s a chilled place to be.”

“The hub fills a space in people’s lives. Tenants and staff are polite and friendly and there’s always a good atmosphere. Megan is great on the front desk. She puts me at ease, I can have a good chat with her. There’s always food and drink available which is welcomed too. My flat suits me down to the ground. My bathroom brilliant, top spec shower which is great for my mental health. There are two cookers in kitchen so I’m never waiting to use the cooking facilities. I’ve never had an issue waiting to use the communal washing machine either. I feel safe in my flat and have a nice set of neighbours. Turnover of staff has always been an issue, but I have had the same housing officer for a while now which is good for me as I need consistency. I have needed a lot of time in the past couple of months due to my mental health and I have found my housing officer to be attentive.”

“I’m very privileged to have progressed from shared accommodation to a house of my own. Everything in the house is brilliant, it’s got everything I need. It’s in the right location for me and I’ve got brilliant neighbours. It’s bang on. I access the Hub when I need extra support with something. It’s a great place to meet other tenants and to have a laugh. The atmosphere is always brilliant. I get absolutely fantastic support, especially from Jo, Naomi and Megan. Julie helped me when I first needed it and I hope I have repaid her by being a good tenant, especially when I was in the shared accommodation – keeping an eye on the other tenants. The support truly makes me feel a part of Yale and long may it continue.”

“I’m grateful for the support Yale offers and know that my Housing Officer is at the end of the phone any time I need something. They keep in touch just to check that I’m ok. My Housing Officer, Karis, does everything and more that is asked of her and always asks the right questions. I love my house – it’s proper accommodation. Yale provide prompt repairs when they are needed and everything I’ve ever needed doing gets done quickly and efficiently. The Hub is a welcoming and friendly place – I wouldn’t improve anything. It caters for every need of a range of people, you can get food if you want a snack or get a foodbank voucher. I enjoy coming to the hub and meeting new people and socializing with people I’d probably never meet in everyday life.”

“I love being in the hub. I love it there. Seeing everyone and talking to everyone. It gives me a real boost. And helping there doing the trips and the food makes me feel like part of a team. We make a brilliant team. It just gives me a boost being part of Yale. I miss it and can’t wait to get back. The support from Yale is absolutely brilliant. It couldn’t get any better. I’m always supported whatever I need. It feels like a family to me. It’s brilliant in my flat. I’m very happy and it feels great being here. I’ve got everything I need with furniture and everything. There’s no complaints from me. We all help each other out when we need and talk to each other. It’s absolutely brilliant.”

“I am really happy being at my house. I feel safe at home and it feels like a home. This Is the first place I have ever felt settled. It is clean and to good standard and I make sure I keep It this way. The support that I get is really good, staff are fun to talk to and have a laugh as well as knowing I can sort any issues out with their support. The HUB has a good atmosphere and there is some good food and activities. I know if I need to speak to anyone I can turn up there. It also keeps peoples brains busy, so they are avoiding situations they don’t want to be in.”

“I’ve had a few different properties and this one is the best I have lived in. The repairs always get done quickly. It makes me anxious and nervous being around new people but when I go into the Hub, Megan makes me feel comfortable and I always enjoy a brew and some Greggs when I come in.”

“I think the hub is a good idea. Not just for us tenants but the homeless guys too for somewhere to go. My house is like a home to me. I like living here and get on with all my neighbours. Naomi is my housing officer and she does loads for me. She is always there when I need her and gives me brilliant support.”

“The hub is great, you can go in there and talk to people, get any help you need. You get to meet and talk to people you’d never normally get a chance to. I’ve been with Yale for 4 years and I’ve met MP’s, the Mayor and had the chance to talk to professionals when I’ve needed. I’d never get to do that normally. Yale have always been there when I’ve needed them”

“The hub offers a friendly welcoming atmosphere where residents can come together and chat amongst each other as well as having activities daily. It’s comforting to have a hub where you can escape, engage and socialise. It’s highly recommended from me. My property is always well maintained by Yale. They ask regularly about repairs, concerns or issues and are quick to act should this be the case. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you are supported regularly. I cannot thank them enough; they are always on hand. Yale are a fantastic housing association and excellent service provider and I’d like a special mention to my housing officer, Joanne – you truly are amazing.”

“My home is really good, I feel happy. I feel safe and enjoy the people who I live with. I have good company here and we all look out for each other. We cook together sometimes and plan trips. I pop round to my neighbours and we usually make plans to go out together. I get all I need from you; I am really happy with my support. I feel like you support me really well and if I ever have a problem, I know I can sort it with your help. The HUB is where all my friends from Yale go. We do lots of activities and arts and crafts. I enjoy colouring. I know I can always talk to any staff member at the HUB. If I ever want to talk to anyone I have you there.”

“I would like to say Joanne, Megan and Naomi from Yale have been excellent during this pandemic. They have regularly been in touch to see how I am and how I’m coping with these restrictions within this crisis, and especially in regards to my mental health and tenancy support. They have been superb. My one to ones have been consistent and thoroughly conducted. So overall I am pleased and grateful for their concern and support. I know it is their job to do this, but they have all been brilliant.”
